I often sit around watching my own children tear around the place and think ‘how did I have anything to do with making something so miraculous’? Every moment they give us is a gift… It amazes me time after time just how much a few photographs can tell the whole story. You can see the spirit of this family from one glance and tell that they live for each other. I am blessed that there are people out there who trust me to capture that spirit and help them tell their story. Thank you! xxoo

These are my brothers kids. Two of the cutest kids in the world… two of the biggest rat-bags in the world as well. If I ever wanted a challenge photographically with kids, this is definitely it. To get them to smile and warm up for the session I had to eat leaves, bindies and pull the stupidest faces ever known to man. This place is pretty special for our family because we used to come here when we were kids and swim/play in the creek in summer. It’s not quite the same these days, the ‘rickety bridge’ isn’t quite so rickety anymore and with all the rain we’ve had, the water is deep and fast but the place sure does still have that quite peaceful feel about it. That is until you put a couple of terrorist kids in it!

As they played at the beach, they laughed and cried, giggled and screamed. Through it all they glanced at each other through the sea spray and made sure they were never too far apart. They are sisters. They are best friends. And though their lives might one day take them to different places, they will look back on this day and smile, because they already knew that they will be together forever… xxoo

What can I say? Beautiful family, beautiful location (even though it turned out to be private property – whoops!) beautiful light and awesome colour! Spending the afternoon with this family was just magical and even though one of the tribe was sick and feeling terrible, we got through it and managed to capture their spirit pretty well in the end. Beautiful kids!!! xxoo…

We were out looking for urban locations the other day… What a beautiful little girl (I am slightly biased!). Sometimes one of these ‘one in a million’ shots pops up amongst the others…

This beautiful family gave my cameras so much awesomeness that it has been tough to select images for their gallery! Just look at their precious little boy, so happy to be out in the open, chewing the bedhead and laughing all afternoon… Thanks for having me there to capture it all xxoo

This gorgeous family requested a dawn shoot which was so nice to do. It was a beautiful morning and the light was just magical. Little boy blue was pretty happy for most of the session and had a huge belly laugh when daddy tickled his tummy. xxoo

When I am not working with clients, I love nothing more than photographing my children. It’s the most special time we have together because it’s always an adventure or a game somewhere out in the open in the fresh air. When the weather is nice, we go somewhere and solve mysteries. It’s also about me scouting locations and finding the magic light but we won’t ruin the story with that! Usually this involves me hiding a key in a tree and her looking for it. It’s the key to the treasure chest which of course is the next part of the mystery. So far we haven’t solved any mysteries per-say… But we have a great time trying and on the day where I actually have time to bury a treasure chest full of chocolate coins, to her, all this effort will finally be worth it…

Can you remember what is was like before they were around? Most of us don’t really talk about it much but I can’t remember what it was like… I can’t remember anything at all before the day she was born. When I look at pictures like this, I see her and her mother and I thank my lucky stars that these girls were somehow sent my way. xxoo

Sometimes one image is all it takes to tell the whole story… xoxoxoxoxoxox
